The cost of doing nothing.
Do you know why people never change banks even though the service is terrible and the fees seem arbitrary and high?
Stay with me here.
It’s because it’s a pain in the ass to change banks.
You have to go find another bank, do the research, move your accounts…
And what if you do all of that and the new bank sucks too?
So you just stick with what you’ve got, even though it’s mediocre at best…
How often do we take this approach throughout our lives?
With health, with exercise, with friendships and even with relationships?
We embrace mediocrity because acknowledging that things aren’t great is painful, changing is hard and takes a lot of work at the beginning, and there’s no certainty of success at the end of it all.
We’d rather live with a known “just okay” than an unknown anything, even though chances are extremely high of getting back to “just okay.”
My point today is this – you don’t deserve okay. You don’t deserve mediocre. You don’t deserve the status quo.
AND you aren’t destined for that either. Your future is not written.
But doing what you did yesterday and the day before and the day before isn’t going to get you to that happy place.
You’re going to have to change things up, even if it’s just a little.
So think about it, what’s the cost of doing nothing for you right now?
Maybe today you make a tiny change, a tiny shift, do that one hard thing, and start building momentum toward greatness.
You might be surprised by what happens.
You can do hard things, and in the end they will pay off!
