How often do you let yourself feel proud?
How often do you finish this sentence? “I’m doing a good job at ____________.”
“I’m a great person with so much to offer.
I’m doing a great job with my clients.
I’m managing my schedule well.
I am a good CEO.
I have knocked it out of the park with my clients lately, showing them how to get results. It was my best work.
I give it my all, my everything. All of me. And still had more of me to give.
I gave so much of my presence to my clients no matter how busy I am each day.
I even found time to take a personal day off for me.
I inspire people each day to become the best version of themselves day in and day out. I spent time in conversation with them. Anchoring the impact of what we do.
I had intimate conversations with clients.
And I gave myself sleep, sun, and a mani-pedi.
I’m so, so proud of the work I have done to get here. Personally and professionally.
I am proud of who I have become.
I am doing a good job.
I’m a great person.”
I actively tell myself these thoughts daily. I breathe into them. Let them sink into my chest. Feel them with my whole body. And then go operate in the world.
It’s easy to find all the ways we need to do better. Where we need more improvement. Where we have less than we want. Where we aren’t accomplished.
To find the things to be proud of.
To say the words out loud.
I am proud.
So what’s your list?
Write it down.
Say it out loud.
Allow yourself to feel it.
I repeat: let yourself feel proud.
At least 50% of the time.
You have to do it now.
Before you arrive.
No accomplishment can ever do it for you. I promise.
Now is the time.
