Connecting With Your Higher Self

Connecting With Your Higher Self

When you want to listen to a particular radio station, you tune your radio to that station, tuning in to a particular frequency. Same when you want to watch a particular show on TV. It is the frequency you tune into that determines what you hear and what you see.

Our brains operate in very much the same way, except that we have only two stations we can tune into – the ego station and the higher-self station.

The ego station is the station that originates in the programmed mind, which contains all our limiting beliefs that create our fears. The ego station is our wounded self, our false self – the protected self we learned to be as we were growing up and needed to find ways to have control over getting love, avoiding pain, and feeling safe. Our ego wounded self is a closed circuit – it operates on old information that we acquired as we were growing up, information that is no longer relevant or even true. It is not open to new information. It is not open to truth.

The higher-self station is the station that taps into the unlimited information from the universe – information that is beyond the programmed mind. The higher-self station taps into the Source of truth that is always here to guide us in our highest good.

How do you tune your frequency to your higher-self station?

We have all been given a “dial” that either tunes us to the low frequency of our ego station, or to the high frequency of our higher-self station. This dial is our INTENT.

We have only two intents to choose from:

1. The intent to get love and avoid pain with some form of controlling behavior

2. The intent to learn about loving ourselves and others

The intent to have control over getting love and avoiding pain lowers our frequency and keeps us stuck in our limited mind – our ego mind. When we choose this intent/frequency, we are stuck thinking the thoughts – the lies – and taking the unloving actions that create fear, anxiety, depression, guilt, shame, stress, anger, jealousy, resentment, and so on. The ego frequency is the frequency of being a victim. We choose this frequency when we choose the intent to have control over getting love and avoiding pain.

At any moment, we can change our minds and choose the intent to learn – about what is in our highest good and the highest of all. We can choose to learn about our ego mind rather than stay stuck in it. The moment we choose the intent to learn about love, we raise our frequency and are able to access the higher-self station. This is like moving out of the limitations of our personal computer and into the Internet – only better. While some of the information on the Internet is true and some is not, all of the information we receive from the higher-self station is true – it comes from the Source of Truth.

The only thing that stops us from choosing the higher-self station is our addiction to control. The ego mind wants control over our feelings, over others’ feelings and actions, and over the outcome of things. When your desire for control is greater than your desire to be loving to yourself and others, and greater than your desire to live in truth, you will remain stuck in the ego station.

The ego station tells us that we can have control over things that we actually have no control over – others and outcomes. While we can have some control over our feelings with various addictions, this only leads to greater unhappiness. Our feelings are an inner guidance system, letting us know when we are on track or off track in our thinking and behavior, so suppressing them with addictions only lead to more pain.

You will discover great joy when you choose the intent to learn about loving yourself and others and access the incredible information that is yours when you are tuned into your higher-self station.

4 Ways to Postpone your Procrastination

We’ve all done it at some time or other. We put off our exercise routine until tomorrow; we continually delay finishing that project or starting that business.

Procrastination is the mother of all demons and can literally stop you in your tracks from achieving all that you desire.

Here are 4 effective processes you can use to slay this giant.

1. Do it now

Hold your breath and jump right in! Putting things off until the last minute is a bad habit and like all habits is ingrained in our subconscious mind and hard to break. It feels like the normal thing to do and we simply continue along our path. To complete a task immediately may even feel strange or like a forced action.

2. Take baby steps

Sometimes we procrastinate because the task may be intimidating to us. Perhaps we have no possible inkling on where to start. In these cases, it is quite ne to take it one step at a time. Say you are preparing a business plan and for the 5th time this week, you’ve turned on the PC and looked at the blank screen. Or you’ve just remembered you need to do some more research before you begin…you’re still not ready. You simply need to break down the project into smaller pieces and tackle each bit separately. Make each task an individual project and after completion of each one, celebrate and acknowledge your achievement.

3. Forget it

Why force the issue? If you have been ‘dragging your feet’ on something for a very long time, it may all be for the best. Something, somewhere is trying to tell you something. That something is your intuition and it is usually right! Think about something that you have been putting off again and again and again. What are the reasons that you need to complete this task in the first place? Does someone want you to do this? What is THEIR agenda? What are YOUR reasons for this lengthy delay? I find it amazing that 99% of the time I put off doing something, I am thankful that I did! Disregarding a project after a long period of procrastination is however usually a last resort.

4. Support team (I can’t help you with this one)

Do you put off tasks because you feel that they are too big and complex for you to handle alone? Or because you need assistance? Be honest with yourself. “No man is an island”. Ask for help! There are many resources out there that can provide you with all you need to carry out your job. If you’re a solo-professional and you put off answering emails, then don’t answer them yourself. Hire an assistant, and some college students that want experience, get a family member to help. Procrastinating on life changing activities could be as a result of fear of the unknown. Get a mastermind group together, and a mentor, join a support group. You don’t have to do it all by yourself. Just ensure that to kick this habit; you do what feels good to you in whatever method you choose. You’ll surely postpone procrastination for a very long time

New Thought!

New Thoughts!

Creating a new life requires new thoughts. It’s simple. Decide what you want – like weighing 150 pounds and being and off your meds. Then, in your mind and on paper, write A LOT about what you need to think and feel to do the shit to get there.

Most of us try to make ourselves do things while still keeping our old bad thoughts. If you picture your future self -planning with ease, that means you today makes a plan and quits complaining about it, shutting down the doubts. It means you’ve got your planner in a place you can’t miss it, and keep stickie notes on your desk as a backup in case you need to do a quickie plan. You today is learning how to be excuse-free so that future you plans with ease.

Or maybe you picture your future self being at goal weight with ease. Enjoying your life. That means you today must notice when you’re thinking how hard weight-loss is and focus on ways to make it easier. You today must spend time finding out what’s working and feeling easier and write about it.

Your future self is not dwelling on the past. You’re not focused on all the things you can’t do. You’re glad you finally lost the weight. That means you today needs to notice when you’re thinking “I can’t” and challenge yourself to figure out what you can do in this moment to think “I can.”

When you Think you Can, YOU WILL!

Your brain is the most powerful tool on the planet. Money could never buy or reproduce it. Managing your brain (and your thoughts) is the most important thing you will ever do to create your desired results.”

“Why do you do what you do?”

“Why do you do what you do?”

Meant in a broader sense, of course—not why do you get up in the morning and put your left foot down before your right—though, that could lead to some interesting answers as well, I’m sure.

To be asked “Why do you do what you do?” necessitates a deeper answer and therein lies a harder question.

What drives you, what inspires you, and what motivates you?

These are the answers we’re searching for.

So, how would you respond?

Why we do what we do “comes naturally,” once we are able to recognize who and what we truly are, at our core. Understanding why we do what we do comes with deep reflection of self. Awareness of what makes our heart beat, the things we get out of bed in the morning for (left foot before right).

Experiences in our lives also lend influence as to why we do the things we do.

The experience, coupled with the way it made you feel, led you to pursue an avenue that allowed you to look back to remember why you started, whatever it is you started.

Whether it was the decision to start eating better.  To start that workout plan you have been putting off for years.  To start going after what you truly want in life.

Some are intrinsically drawn to what they do—it is the essence of their being, and following any other path wouldn’t feel right. What has shaped and changed your life—isn’t a job, or career, it’s a way of life. If you want to feel better, then what are you going to do to make that happen, today.

It’s understood that we cannot all be so fortunate as to follow our hearts all our lives. We have to survive: The bills come, unexpected obstacles side swipe us, and life happens—not always as we plan.

But it’s important, still, to recognize that fire within us. While we may not be able to do daily what we wish we could, we still have the ability to live those values regardless of what we “do” for work.

Our feelings, emotions, and the difficult circumstances we face all throughout life shape us into the people that we become. But sometimes, when met with adversity, we don’t always ask the hard questions we should.

All too often we yield to our circumstances and hold back, accepting that this is our fate, or the feeling that we can’t do something.  Overcoming obstacles, taking the road less traveled, or forging your own path is not an easy feat, but it’s oftentimes the most necessary.

Rather than letting the challenges you encounter push you around, allow them to wake you up—allow them to be your call to action. Do hard things! Do the work to get you to your goals.

Don’t let another day go by, telling yourself you will start tomorrow.  Start RIGHT NOW, TODAY.

Weight Loss for Busy Executives, Entrepreneurs and Professionals!

Weight Loss for Busy Executives, Entrepreneurs and Professionals!

Busy lifestyles, deadlines, stress, the desire to be crushing business and create wealth or even just struggling to stay ahead is the reality for many of us.

It’s work. It’s business. And it’s what many accept as just the norm.
In addition, most also accept that they are so busy to invest any time or energy into their own health, fitness and well-being.

Holding on to the belief that “I don’t have time, I’m too busy, And I’m too tired to exercise”.

What happens next? Well, it’s not just next, it’s usually years, if not decades later that many busy professionals reach break point.
Overweight, highly stressed, moody, and not sleeping well.

Sometimes coupled with a health scare of high blood pressure or where the third doctors lead to the final statement. “You have to do something about it now”.
These common beliefs are two-fold.
1.   You don’t know what you don’t know. So if you don’t take the first step to be are aware and resourceful to ‘find’ new ways, better strategies to achieve a goal, then you never start.
2.   It simply means your values are not aligned with your higher objectives. Or one might think it’s important but it’s not high enough no the value list to do anything about.
Let’s dive into a couple of quick solutions, or belief shifts to overcome the most common excuses or beliefs that prevent busy professionals, and executives from losing weight, start implementing an effective health and weight loss program that is sustainable.

That is super essential to many busy people, especially executives, entrepreneurs, and busy professionals that still want to perform at their best., lose weight, get back in control of their health and find better ways of achieving higher levels of health, energy and success.

Most high performers want to be healthy, fit, and focused. Be able to integrate work life balance and have the energy, to be successful. They want to lose weight, get leaner, get fitters, and have the ability to perform optimally given the pressured of work and success.

Now with burnout, meaning deadlines, busy travel schedules, and entertaining, it’s inevitable that when the focus of life is all on business, reaching deadlines, creating wealth, our health becomes a second priority. That is usually because our common beliefs, and especially those that are held by busy professionals is that I don’t have time, I’m too busy, I am too tired, I don’t have enough energy. And this is where we need to reframe or look at a different mindset to now become resourceful, or at least gather new information, a new perspective. And a more effective strategy to achieve specific health, energy, weight loss and mindset objectives that combat and work with all of those common excuses.

The first myth, or limiting belief is “I don’t have time”.

That’s because our belief for most people is that for any exercise or health endeavor to be effective, we need to invest a lot of time and energy into the process. Thinking we need to be at the gym for 60 minutes, five days a week, for it to be effective is myth number one. To combat that, we found that without busy professionals, what’s more powerful, what’s more influential in achieving weight loss, or getting lean or maintaining a good ideal body weight is more about the process of routine.

We found with our busy professionals that their morning routine, whether it be two minutes, 10 minutes, seven minutes, or 15 minutes, if we can create a consistent habit of movement, first thing in the morning, it’s not only going to develop sound routines, it’s also going to help us build a certain level of momentum into achieving and implementing more consistent habits later on in the day.

Those professionals that are implementing a five-minute routine in the morning, are already going to be more energized, they’re already kick starting their metabolism, they’re already getting an adrenaline release, they’re also getting a dopamine hit.

We’re starting an addiction to accomplishment and a sense of achievement. And these morning routines become incredibly powerful, not just in losing weight, but also increasing, creating our mental performance, creating a certain level of leadership, focus, engagement and achievement for other tasks throughout the day.

The second myth is “I’m tired, I don’t have the energy”.

We can look at this in a few different ways. But the most powerful strategy that we have found, resonates and is easy to implement for busy professionals is that we don’t have the energy because we have not mastered the art of managing energy itself. If we look at the factors that can optimize, increase or generate energy, it comes down to three simple factors, number one, movement. And you will be able to test this yourself. If you are feeling tired, lethargic or unfocused, get up, move, follow your morning routine, do some mobility drills, go and talk to people just get out of your chair and move. Whether you are working at home on weekends, and you are losing focus, whether you have been slugging it out for a few hours at work and stuck at your desk, get up and move.

Movement in itself is the key strategy to optimize your energy. And when busy professionals start to connect the dots and understand that to generate more energy or to increase energy is by moving more, we start to build new routines, new habits, new rituals, and we start to identify a new strategy that gives us the outcome that we’re looking for. Being tired is also related to being stressed. When we are stressed.

We switch off, we are disengaged. We look for excuses, our brain stops being resourceful we lose our ability to find solutions. And that plays havoc with our mindset. Because we come from a place of you know, you’ve got your fight and flight reactions. We become reactive to the fight rather than finding that solution to improve our current state, our current level of energy that we are bombarded with on any given day.

To combat the stress is linking back to the first element where we believe more is better, that we need to spend more hours at the desk, we need to spend more hours at work, we need to spend more time to finish the project and get the deadline. When in fact, if we start to focus on quality time and levels of our productivity, you will find that you can oscillate your engagement which will optimize and maximize your mental focus, your productivity and your ability to complete tasks in less time.

In fact, less time at the desk leads to higher levels of productivity and performance, less stress, more energy, less cortisol, greater fat loss. It’s all linked and it’s all related.

It’s not uncommon for our busy professional clients, when they start working with us to lose up to 10 kilograms in their first eight to 12 weeks simply by looking at their nutrition and implementing these effective strategic morning routines. Depending on their initial start point.

And strategies to optimize their energy, their mood, and to facilitate recovery. Nutrition. This is one of the biggest areas that hold people back from achieving their results. Again, usually related to miss information, or the wrong strategy that leads to disappointment and frustration. Thinking that we need to be perfect.

Clients start off thinking that they’ve got to be perfect within nutrition, that I just need to be eating salads, that carbs are bad for us that we have to spend a lot of time and invest time into meal preparation that we have to eat, often smaller meals all the time.

When we get into a state of hunger, and we need to eat, we then panic and we go for whatever is closest and most convenient without even thinking Regardless of where it is, such as Starbucks, it’s pastries, it’s a low quality sandwich — more often than not it’s fast, highly processed food.

One of the key elements of understanding hunger and nutrition is that we must start to focus on eating strategically — that is, eating when we are hungry. Not eating out of habit, routine, or reactively to an emotion trigger like stress, pressure or time of day. That’s the first point We have been programmed to believe that we need to eat at certain times, we need to eat breakfast, we need to eat every two or three hours. Otherwise, our blood sugar is going to drop too low, our metabolism is going to slow down and we’re going to store fat, which is a complete myth.

Through our own experiences and proven methods with clients, that this one strategy alone is critical to long term success, higher levels of wellness, longevity and sustainable lifestyle choice as well as habits.
There are also many sources of research that also support this intervention. If we actually eat less frequently, it leads to:

1. Increased mental and cognitive performance
2. Increased resting metabolic rate
3. Consistent blood sugar levels
4. Reduced insulin and cortisol levels
5. Facilitates cellular recovery.

Clients also experience more energy, greater fat loss, higher levels of productivity. And it also allows us to disassociate our connection, our emotional connection with food.

Secondly, when we focus on meal frequency or eating when we’re hungry, we actually end up eating less calories. This leads us towards more of a calorie deficit more consistently. But it also allows us to have more flexibility with the types of foods that we’re eating. And that is where the magic happens. Because most people are not compliant within nutrition, because they can’t stick to a perfect, healthy or clean diet plan. And this is setting people up to fail. Because there’s no doubt most of us like food.

It’s part of our social culture. It’s about entertaining, spending time with our family, entertaining clients travel, drinking. When you give people the flexibility to work within this kind of threshold, (we call it flow) it leads to much more powerful outcomes and successful sustainable weight loss even for busy professionals.
