Self Confidence:

What is Self-Confidence?

Self Confidence is being secure in yourself and your abilities.  Most people lack self-confidence, they don’t think they are good enough, they think everyone is better than them, which can hinder your performance at work and in life.   So how does one become more self-confident?  You have to master the ability to trust yourself, know that you can experience any emotion (including failure) without being harmed, and it’s your overall opinion of yourself.  Let’s take a look at each part to better understand how we can be more self-confident  no matter what others think and do.

  • Ability to Trust Yourself: This comes down to knowing you will do what you have said you will do.  You will follow through on your plan.  You will take care of yourself.  You will do the  responsible and useful thing for yourself, even when you don’t feel like it.  Let’s not confuse this saying you will do something and then hoping you follow through.  That just leaves room for self-doubt.  The ability to trust yourself starts from consistent follow through on your word to yourself. No one is born with self-confidence; you earn it from yourself by keeping your word and doing what you say at the highest level.
  • Knowing That You Can Experience Any Emotion: The worst that can ever happen is an emotion.  Truly, emotions are what make life bad when it’s bad.  Most of us spend too much time in self- doubt because we don’t know that we can handle hard that comes our way.  There’s no emotion that will permanently harm us if we feel it all the way through and process it.  When we are willing to experience any emotion and we know it’s the worst that can happen, we will be flooded with self-confidence.  The ability to feel is like our safety net for anything we want to do. It tasks the risk out of everything and gives us a “bring it on” attitude.
  • Your Opinion of Yourself: How you think of yourself will either pump you up or deplete your self- confidence.  Confidence is a feeling, and so that makes self-confidence a feeling about self.  All our feelings are going to come from our thinking, so the way we think about ourselves will determine whether we feel confident.  If you are self-confident then you will feel good, and capable, and worthy.  You will feel like you can do practically anything.  Now, notice that it doesn’t have to be proven or true – self-confidence  is a feeling that creates a result, and that result doesn’t have to be completed perfectly to create the feeling.

Why Most of Us Don’t Have It:

Most of us aren’t self -confident.  Why would this be? We don’t trust ourselves.  We don’t understand how to manage our minds, so we feel out of control with our feelings and actions.  This leaves us to let ourselves down consistently.  This undermines our ability to trust and stay in integrity.  We’re afraid of feeling our emotions.  We don’t want to feel any negativity, so we hide.  This leaves us scared to do anything that has the risk of failure.

We are always questioning our ability because we have to do it perfectly or we will feel negative emotion. Our opinion of ourselves is very low. We don’t spend a lot of time thinking highly of ourselves. Our brains are programmed to see what’s wrong, so that’s what it’s always looking for. It finds negative thoughts that create negative emotions. This is the opposite of self confidence

Self Confidence is a State of Being:

Thoughts create feelings. Beliefs create states of being. Beliefs are just thoughts we think over and over. Thinking thoughts that create confidence and then believing them is a skill. Most of our beliefs are recycled. We don’t even realize how much self-doubt and anxiety our beliefs produce because we’ve always thought this way. This familiar and efficient thinking is almost comfortable in its predictability.

How do we increase self-confidence?

Increased self-confidence comes from changing your thoughts about yourself. You can increase it by considering the possibility of what you can create in the future. The more certain you are of a possibility, the more confidence you will have moving toward it.

Actions Increase Capability and Capability Increases Confidence:

Progress increases self- confidence. Massive action helps increase it. Do the stuff you are scared to do. Repeat. Make decisions. Honor your decisions. Define opinions. Give up needing others’ approval. Self- confidence comes from needing your own approval. Learn by doing. If you don’t know something, learn by taking action to find out how. Don’t compare yourself 192 to others. Don’t be offended, ever. Let people judge you. Let them be wrong about you. Don’t live in fear of the haters.

In the end, we all die. Our lives are over before we know it. We will have controlled very little. None of it will mean much. We might as well lay it out.

Goal Setting for your Business:

Goal Setting for your Business:

Goal Setting is an important method for:

  • Deciding what you want to achieve in your life.
  • Separating what’s important from what’s irrelevant, or a distraction.
  • Motivating yourself.
    • Is your motivation to help people or to make money?  They go hand and hand – it just depends how you look at it.  If you show the value in helping others, they will want the help, and in return you will get paid, so you will make money.
  • Building your self – confidence, based on successful achievement of goals.

Then the way to set goals is to look at your 5-year goal, or someday goals,  which can be overwhelming – so then break it up by years, months, weeks, days and then tasks to accomplish each day.  In order to reach your ultimate goals.

  • If it pertains to this business if you want to make X number dollars – and you know that you charge each person X number of dollars, then you know how many clients you need to make that much money.
  • Also don’t sell yourself short – Make a reach goal, something that makes you feel uncomfortable.  So that you strive for that- but then if you don’t hit it, you can reset when you will hit it and or you will still reach above your goal that you knew you could hit.
  • Then you have to believe that you can do this goal.  If you have any doubts, then it will be very hard to reach any goals.

Setting Boundaries:

  • I am going to talk to you about setting boundaries with your loved ones,  friends even your boss at work.  A boundary is something you create for yourself, and it’s used to achieve life changing results.  It is not a way to control other people.  A boundary is a request you make of someone to change a certain behavior and a consequence of what you will do to self-protect, if they violate it.   We all have been in a relationship that we feel like people just walk all over you,  they don’t respect what bothers you, and since we don’t want to let anyone down or want to express what bothers us, we let them.  And how will that person know unless we tell them.
  • Healthy boundaries promote self-responsibility and empowerment, they lead to closer relationships with others because you are increasing communication as well.
  • The two steps to effectively set an emotional boundary are the request and the consequence.
  • The request to ask someone to stop doing the thing that bothers you, literally or emotionally.
  • The consequence is what you tell the person that you will do if they do not comply with your request.
  • Important thing to remember about setting a boundary is they come from a place of love.  It is not about controlling or manipulating someone else’s behavior.   But be sure to tell them this is how you are taking care of yourself to protect your own feelings and emotions.
  • Finally, boundaries are the most amazing, wonderful and yet difficult things to implement.  They are tools to bring you closer to the ones you love rather than pushing them away.  It is just another way to keep people from violating important spaces in our lives.
  • Setting boundaries is about telling the truth to ourselves and to the people in our lives.  Also, remember that following through on our consequences 100% of the time is critical to make this tool effective in your life.  Remember that if you’re willing to have the courage to honor yourself, tell the truth, and ultimately protect yourself, you will see an increase of peace and intimacy in your life.  Who doesn’t want that?

Time Management and How to Get It Done:

  • I am going to teach you about Time Management and How to Get It Done!  Everyone always says if you want something done, give it to a busy person.  Why do you think that is?  Do they have move hours in their day then you do?
  • Everyone has the same 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and 52 weeks in a year.  So why do you think some people get more done then others?  Well I am going to tell you how they do it.  Time can’t be managed, time is what it is, it just sits there.  So, the only way we can manage our time is to manage how we think about it.
  • First things first, make a list of things that are top priorities to you.  Things like working, family, working out, sleeping even your free time.  Each week starting on Monday’s, plan out your whole week.  This is known as  Monday Hour One.  This is taking a big goal and breaking it down day by day, then hour by hour. While you are making your list of things to do, be sure to create results you want to accomplish.  You will then put everything on your calendar.
  • Then you will follow your calendar NO MATTER WHAT!  This will help you know what needs to be done and when.  You will know exactly when something will be completed because it is on your calendar.  For all your perfectionist out there, do me a favor and be ok for doing B work.  B work is good enough work to create what you need to create.  If you always are striving for A + work, you will never get anything done.
  • This type of planning will keep you focused and on course to reach your goals.  Your mind will be at ease because at the end of the day, all you need to do is stick to the plan.  Which is to follow your calendar.  Setting yourself up this way will make you the most money, give you the most freedom and help you to create the legacy you want.  Who doesn’t want that! I know I do!

Money – Part 1

Today I am going to talk about Money!  What do you believe about Money?

  • Money is abundant, Money is easy, Money is fun, I love money.

Or to think that…

  • Money is hard, You have to work hard for money, I never have enough money, Money isn’t important.

The way you think about money is what will determine how much you have.

Questions you should ask yourself?  Does money solve all problems? Can money buy you time, and there is nothing more valuable than time? Can money buy freedom? Does money make life easier?

Most people believe they’re limited in how they can earn money, that it’s only earned over time and by effort, but the real way to create wealth is by creating value.  Now, if you believe that money comes from time and effort, you’re going to be sitting there with your hand out, wanting to get paid. You’ll want to get paid the most you can for the least amount of time and effort, but that will backfire.

People who overdeliver always get it back ten times over, not only in their self-esteem and in their self- confidence, but in their willingness to receive. When you’ve given such quality to the world, you’re open to receiving all the gifts, all the abundance the world has.

When you’re constantly living from a place of scarcity, wanting to make sure you get paid for every single thing you do, you stop creating value.

Money is actually very easy when you clean up your beliefs about it. When you allow yourself to imagine breaking out of the time and effort money prison, you’ll open yourself up to so much more possibility.

Here’s the deal. Most of us think we get paid for our time, which has
a limit, and there’s a maximum amount we can make based on our education. What is the number you have in your mind? $100k? $500k? Most people think that’s the maximum they can make in a year, and they hope to find someone who will pay them that much. If you have beliefs like these, you’ll get stuck in a rut.

Maybe there’s not a limited amount of money you can make. Maybe you can create your own wealth by creating your own value and offering it to the world. That doesn’t mean you have to come up with the next iPhone, and that doesn’t mean you need a talk show, and it doesn’t mean that you have to be the best investor in the world. All it means is that you’re going to be the best version of yourself you can possibly be and give as much service to the world as you can possibly give for the sake of how amazing you’ll feel. You not only have to create the value; you also have to then be open to receiving.

You have to trust your own guidance to take you to the place where you need to be. You have to stop buffering and start to clean up your mind
and not respond to negative emotion to be able to access what you have that’s of value. Every single one of us has the ability to create money.

Start with a little bit of awareness by thinking about how much money you have right now. Why do you have that amount?

Now think about that in terms of your thoughts, your feelings, and your actions. What are your feelings about how you’ve acquired your money? What’s your opinion about your money right now? Are your current thoughts likely to create more money?

That’s all for now.. Part 2 will be Next week – Your thoughts about making more money.
